He said it, not me…. ‘Real Time’ host Bill Maher said something out loud that left people somewhat speechless and feeling awkward like, did he really just say that? Well, it’s Bill Maher, so of course he said it. The room was somewhat speechless. Then again, they’re the audience, so it’s not really their job to talk, but when you watch the video above, you’ll see what I mean.
What did Bill Maher say? The topic was abortion, so right away it’s going to get under people’s skin. Of course, if they weren’t aborted, then they have skin and can read this, so thanks to those mothers for not murdering their future babies. But Bill Maher said:
A lot of people think it’s murder. That’s why I don’t understand the 15-week thing, or Trump’s plan is, ‘Let’s leave it to the states.’ You mean, so killing babies is OK in some states? I can respect the absolutist position. I really can. I scold the left when they say, ‘Oh, you know what, they just hate women, people who aren’t pro-choice.’ They don’t hate women. They just made that up. They think it’s murder and it kind of is. I’m just OK with that. I am. I mean, there’s 8 billion people in the world. I’m sorry, we won’t miss you. That’s my position on it… Is that not your position when you’re pro-choice?
Technically, Bill Maher is right. If you’re pro-choice, then you’re OK with babies being born, or babies being sucked out like a porta-potty being cleaned. Do you want to know my opinion on abortion? I’m a guy, so I don’t have an opinion on abortion because guys can’t get pregnant and we can’t abort babies. However, I do think if the election comes down to abortion – then Republicans need to say whatever makes people happy enough to vote for them so Democrats don’t win again.
The facts are this – abortion will never be fully banned in America. It will always be here in some way, form, or secret alley with a clothes hangar. So what’s the SMART play here? The smartest thing Republicans can do is stop talking about abortion. Let it go. Don’t lose an election over morals and something that won’t go away, like literally ever.
You may not like abortion, and trust me – most people don’t – myself included. I don’t support it, but there’s nothing I can personally do about it and I’m not a woman, so I really have no say in this anyway. However, Republicans can’t lose an election over abortion when they have so many other things they actually CAN change that will benefit the country as a whole. Republicans need to think about the bigger picture here – the entire country of America is at stake in the 2024 election. It’s OK for Republicans to lose the battle on abortion if they win the war in the election.
