Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez faced backlash after posting a Tweet suggesting Republicans couldn’t handle being a waitress. Her Tweet stated the following, “Republicans like to make fun of the fact that I used to be a waitress, but we all know if they ever had to do a double they’d be the ones found crying in the walk-in fridge halfway through their first shift bc someone yelled at them for bringing seltzer when they wanted sparkling.”
Her message on the social media platform sparked thousands of responses from both sides of politics, with some supporting her statement and many others posting their own “clap back.”

“They make fun of the fact that you went straight from bartending to congress with 0 political experience” – Ben Larson
“Wrong. We make fun of a lot of things, but not that. I was a server several times in my life. It’s a hard job, and you can take a lot of abuse… which should’ve prepared you for politics” – Matthew Betley
