A Democratic Party lawmaker faced a devastating electoral loss and lost her position after leaving an aggressive, threatening voicemail for Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT) in July. The message came shortly after Sheehy and most of his Republican colleagues supported the Trump-endorsed "Big Beautiful Bill" spending package, which solidified several key promises from the president's campaign. The voicemail, left by Haley McKnight, a candidate for city commissioner in Helena, Montana, started with, "Hi, this is Haley McKnight. I’m a constituent in Helena, Montana," according to Fox News, who reviewed the message.
