Wife of Weezer bassist shot by police

Jillian Lauren Shriner, the wife of Weezer's bassist Scott Shriner, was shot by the Los Angeles Police Department on April 8, 2025, in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. The incident occurred during a manhunt for hit-and-run suspects unrelated to her. According to the LAPD, officers encountered Jillian in her backyard armed with a handgun. After she refused multiple orders to drop the weapon and pointed it at them, police shot her, resulting in a non-life-threatening shoulder wound. She was later arrested and booked for attempted murder, though she was not involved in the hit-and-run. She was released on a $1 million bond the following day.
