I guess I would be mad too if I was ONLY an associate professor. The real professors probably snort their noses at him and only let him have the leftover donuts and coffee.
I'm all for freedom of speech, but this guy is a teacher and represents a rather good school in Philadelphia, PA.
Drexel doesn't need this type of publicity.
While all publicity is good publicity, I'm not sure this is what they were expecting. It is what it is at this point, but maybe we don't tweet this again.
What I personally think happened is this guy is actually testing the market on how easy it is to trigger someone into a rash comment. Is this a social experiment? Is he doing this on purpose to prove a point that's part of some Drexel OK'ed social project?
Why would someone risk potentially losing their job as an associate professor by tweeting something sarcastic like that.
Is the professor being super sarcastic and actually making fun of liberals who blame white people for everything?
Liberals are so stupid that they probably blame white people for creating liberals, forgetting that they are white liberals themselves.
Here's more on the Drexel professor who wants white genocide for Christmas.
Associate Professor of Politics and Global Studies George Ciccariello-Maher at Philadelphia's Drexel University made a Christmas wish this holiday season. Though he is a white man, he tweeted, "All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide."
The professor sent out his wish on Christmas Eve and later deleted it, but the internet never forgets.
Cioccariello-Maher refers to himself as "visiting researcher" at El Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales in Mexico who called the massacre of whites in the Haitian Revolution a "good thing."
"To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian Revolution, that was a good thing indeed."
Reading his bio, one has to come to understand that this professor is a full on Communist:
George Ciccariello-Maher is a writer, radical political theorist, and currently Associate Professor of Politics and Global Studies at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has taught radical theory and politics at Drexel, U.C. Berkeley, San Quentin State Prison, and the Venezuelan School of Planning in Caracas. He holds a B.A. in Government and Economics from St. Lawrence University, a B.A. Hons. and M.A. in Social and Political Sciences from St. John's College, University of Cambridge, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley.
His first book, a history of revolutionary movements in Venezuela entitled We Created Chávez: A People's History of the Venezuelan Revolution, was published by Duke University Press in 2013. He recently published a short follow-up on the political dynamics of the post-Chávez era entitled Building the Commune: Radical Democracy in Venezuela (Jacobin-Verso, 2016). His third book, Decolonizing Dialectics, will be published in early 2017, also by Duke University Press.
He is co-editor, with Bruno Bosteels, of the book series Radical Américas, which launches in 2017 with Duke University Press.
But hey, why don't we just let him describe himself.
"Sorry, I'm not "alt-left," just an actual communist.
Following his tweet about white genocide, he joked that he was hacked.
"@RellieRelz LOL I was hacked I swear"
Ok....maybe I take back those possibilities of him being a sarcastic jokester who's doing a social experiment to test the reactions of social media on a blithering idiot tweet about white genocide.
Maybe this guy really is just one big A-Hole.
If that's the case, then we must remind him that he's white.
He should start the genocide with himself.
We'll be right behind, right?
