Van Morrison recently announced he is releasing another anti-lockdown song. This one will be a collaboration with Eric Clapton called \u201cStand and Deliver\u201d and is set to release on December 4th in support of Morrison\u2019s campaign “Save Live Music.”<\/p>\n
Written by Morrison and performed by Eric Clapton, \u201cStand and Deliver\u201d will be the newest of four tunes he\u2019s written in protest of worldwide Covid-19 lockdowns.<\/p>\n
In the first three singles \u201cBorn to Be Free,\u201d \u201cAs I Walked Out\u201d and \u201cNo More Lockdown\u201d Morrison accused the U.K. government of \u201ctaking our freedom.\u201d In a recent variety interview Clapton said \u201cThere are many of us who support Van and his endeavors to save live music; he is an inspiration….We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEric\u2019s recording is fantastic and will clearly resonate with many who share our frustrations,\u201d Morrison recently stated via his campaign Save Live Music.<\/p>\n As stated on Billboard<\/a>, “I\u2019m not telling people what to do or think, the government is doing a great job of that already,” the 75-year-old singer said in a statement<\/a> announcing the protest anthems. “It\u2019s about freedom of choice, I believe people should have the right to think for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Van Morrison recently announced he is releasing another anti-lockdown song.
