While the professor has since been fired, she is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/texas-am-president-quits-after-backlash-over-dei-gender-identity-lessons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appealing the decision<\/a>.
