Republicans are still calling on Democrat Rep. Julie von Haefen to resign after she posted a horrific photo of President Donald Trump on social media.<\/p>\n

The image she posted was from a protest and someone in the background had an illustration of a fake severed head of the president. Von Haefen apologized and said she didn’t realize that image was in the background, but those who oppose her called her out on it. They said she knew she was at a protest with the graphic imagery in the background and should be held responsible for it.<\/p>\n

She posted the image the same day a criminal shot Melissa Hortman and her husband.<\/p>\n

Von Haefen’s apology<\/a> went like this: \u201cThis weekend, I shared a video montage on Facebook that included an image that was inappropriate… I realized that quickly and took the post down, and I want to apologize today. I apologize to members of the House, to my constituents, and to any North Carolinian who was offended by what I posted. I’m sorry everyone; every one of us needs to take accountability for when we make mistakes. I am taking that accountability today.\u201d<\/p>\n
