{"id":44747,"date":"2025-09-11T18:57:33","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T18:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crankers.com\/?p=44747"},"modified":"2025-09-11T18:57:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T18:57:33","slug":"msnbc-fires-matthew-dowd-charlie-kirk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trendingviews.com\/blog\/msnbc-fires-matthew-dowd-charlie-kirk\/","title":{"rendered":"MSNBC fires Matthew Dowd for Charlie Kirk comments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MSNBC has fired political analyst Matthew Dowd after his controversial on-air remarks about the connection between &#8220;hateful words&#8221; and &#8220;hateful actions&#8221; after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n<p>MSNBC announced on Thursday that Dowd, a paid political analyst, is &#8220;no longer with the network.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dowd said the following after Charlie Kirk was shot dead: &#8220;&#8230;who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which lead to hateful actions. And I think that\u2019s the environment we\u2019re in.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dowd and MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler issued public apologies in response to the backlash his comments received on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Kutler posted an apology, saying <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/dowd-msnbc-kirk-comments-e08f349022c9d69171cd575664141075\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dowd&#8217;s words<\/a> were \u201cinappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable,\u201d and that \u201cthere is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dowd&#8217;s apology was posted on Bluesky and said: \u201cI apologize for my tone and words&#8230; Let me be clear, I in no way intended for my comments to blame Kirk for this attack.
