The committee is investigating President Joe Biden\u2019s suspicious financial dealings with his son, Hunter Biden, and alleged connections to businesses in Communist China, Ukraine, and other nations, said Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), during a press conference on November 17 of House Oversight Committee Republicans.<\/p>\n
The committee is investigating the politicization and alleged corruption at the Department of Justice, Comer also said. Comer, who is the ranking member on the committee, said that the evidence obtained by Committee Republicans reveals that Joe Biden lied to the American people about his involvement in his family\u2019s business schemes, reported CNS News<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Biden family business model is built on Joe Biden<\/a>\u2019s political career and connections with Joe Biden as the \u2018chairman of the board.\u2019 Biden family members sold access for profit around the world to the detriment of American interests,\u201d said Comer. \u201cIf President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are impacting his decision making, this is a threat to national security,\u201d Comer added.<\/p>\n \u201cThe American people deserve transparency and accountability about the Biden family\u2019s influence peddling. With the new Republican majority, Oversight Committee Republicans will continue pressing for answers to inform legislative solutions to prevent this abuse of power,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The committee released a report, on a related note, saying on its website that \u201ca President Compromised: The Biden Family Investigation,\u201d which details evidence \u201cshowing President Biden has personally participated in and benefitted from his family\u2019s business deals\u201d and is \u201cpotentially susceptible to influence, blackmail, or extortion by foreign entities, including by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).\u201d<\/p>\n The Treasury Department \u201ccontinues to run cover for the Biden family and possibly hide information about whether Joe Biden benefited financially from his family\u2019s business transactions,\u201d Comer claimed also. \u201cThe Biden administration changed the rules to severely restrict Congress\u2019 access to suspicious activity reports [SARs] in the dark of night and with no explanation. Hunter Biden and other Biden family members have racked up at least 150 suspicious activity reports for their shady foreign business deals,\u201d said the congressman.<\/p>\n The Treasury Department says in its page on Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) that, \u201cUnder the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), financial institutions are required to assist U.S. government agencies in detecting and preventing money laundering, and:<\/p>\n – Keep records of cash purchases of negotiable instruments; The Bidens\u2019 SARs specifics are still not known. \u201cWe need more information about these transactions and if Joe Biden has benefited financially from his family\u2019s dealings with foreign adversaries,\u201d Comer said. \u201cIt is a matter of national security to know if President Biden is compromised.
