The past role of Hunter Biden serving on the board of a Ukrainian energy firm was slammed by Jon Stewart, a comedian and liberal icon as \u201ccorruption straight up off the bat.\u201d The candid remark about President Biden\u2019s son was made by the 59-year-old left-leaning funnyman on an episode of his \u201cThe Problem with Jon Stewart\u201d podcast released recently.<\/p>\n
The discussion was between Stewart and his guest Gabriel Gatehouse, who is a British journalist, where they were talking about how Hunter\u2019s infamous abandoned laptop – exposed by The Post in 2020 – was initially downplayed and branded a conspiracy theory by mainstream media ahead of the election.<\/p>\n
While the laptop’s contents appeared to be dismissed by the host, Stewart said the 52-year-old first son\u2019s involvement on the board of Burisma – for which he was paid $1 million a year, according to invoices found on the laptop – was \u201ccorrupt on its face.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t need a laptop with like a hint of circumstantial evidence,\u201d said Stewart. Referencing claims that Biden was aware of his son\u2019s controversial deals, the host also added: \u201cNow tying Joe Biden to it, that\u2019s gonna take some digging. And if it\u2019s real, you know, that\u2019s a thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
He then continued, saying: \u201cBut the idea that nepotism would allow much larger amounts of money to flow into the hands of people unqualified, to be in the positions that they\u2019ve been accepted because you think those countries are trying to buy influence.\u201d \u201cWelcome to the f\u2014ing world. And I think, I think it\u2019s a huge problem on its face.
