In his recent rambling rant, Michael Moore has made his own Independence Day \u201cdeclaration,\u201d where he is railing against Republicans where he is stating that he is willing to give up all of the privileges that go along with being a US citizen. He stopped there, not going into details about which specific freedoms he would give up.<\/p>\n
In response to \u201cbeing completely fed up with recent events that have upset my tranquility,\u201d the 68-year-old \u201cFahrenheit 9\/11\u201d film producer posted his \u201cMy Declaration\u201d online.<\/p>\n
The manifesto starts off with, \u201cI refuse to live in a country threatened by white supremacy – and I\u2019m not leaving. So we\u2018ve got a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n
After the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision, which ended the national protection of abortion rights, More stated, “I cannot in good conscience continue to receive the privileges of \u2018full citizenship.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moore mentioned that this was a \u201cCourt decree\u201d and that this leaves women and girls as \u201cofficial second-class citizens with no rights to their own bodies and conscripted to a life of Forced Birth should they fall pregnant and not want to be.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUntil women\u2019s rights have been fully reinstated, and their equal rights are enshrined in our Constitution \u2026 I will not shut up about this,\u201d Moore mentions<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you invite me to dinner that\u2019s all I\u2019m gonna talk about. \u2026 And I won\u2019t stop until Roe is reinstated and 51% of Congress is female,\u201d Moore writes.<\/p>\n The Flint, Michigan native also asked for \u201can end to the mass incarceration of Black Americans\u201d and \u201can end to police shooting Black people.\u201d<\/p>\n He also mentioned that he will go all over the country and organize the \u201cGet Out The Vote\u201d drive among his fans.<\/p>\n Moore wrote, \u201cI insist we remove every single Republican from office in November.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cNo candidate will get our support unless they sign a pledge stating they will vote to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land; make gerrymandering and voter suppression illegal; eliminate the filibuster; upgrade Obamacare to Universal Health Care for All; pass strong gun control laws; and end the police executions and racist incarcerations of Black citizens,\u201d More notes.<\/p>\n There was even an offer to \u201chelp lead a national strike, in whatever form it needs to take.\u201d He then forwarned, \u201cWatch what happens when we shut down even 10% of the country. POOF! goes Wall Street! Hit \u2018em where it counts.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cA mass shooting to celebrate the 4th. A wealthy class that doubled its wealth while the country suffered.
