Pelosi suggested the FAA was to blame for not telling anyone at the Capitol about the US Army plane that would fly in restricted airspace near the Capitol.<br \/>\nThe plane was carrying parachute jumpers who were part of a demonstration for the baseball game over at Nationals Park.<br \/>\nPelosi said in a statement released by her office: &#8220;The Federal Aviation Administration&#8217;s apparent failure to notify Capitol Police of the pre-planned flyover Nationals Stadium is outrageous and inexcusable. The unnecessary panic caused by this apparent negligence was particularly harmful for Members, staff and institutional workers still grappling with the trauma of the attack on their workplace on January 6th,&#8221; according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/outrageous-inexcusable-pelosi-slams-faa-capitol-plane-scare\/story?id=84215269\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe FAA apologized for the breakdown in communication, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/transportation\/2022\/04\/22\/faa-apology-parachute-capitol-evacuation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"teaser-content grid-center\">\n<div class=\"article-body\" data-qa=\"article-body\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-body\" data-qa=\"article-body\">\n<p class=\"font-copy font--article-body gray-darkest ma-0 pb-md\" data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\"><em>\u201cWe deeply regret that we contributed to a precautionary evacuation of the Capitol complex and apologize for the disruption and fear experienced by those who work there,\u201d the agency said in a statement late Friday.
