Abrams was also called out for being in debt years ago, but now having a reported <span dir=\"auto\">net worth of $3.17 million &#8211;<\/span> and people want to know how that happened.<br \/>\nWATCH the video:<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 854px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-12094-1\" width=\"854\" height=\"650\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/trendingviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/stacey-abrams.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/trendingviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/stacey-abrams.mp4\">https:\/\/trendingviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/stacey-abrams.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div><br \/>\n<span class=\"style-scope yt-formatted-string\" dir=\"auto\"><em>&#8216;Outnumbered&#8217; panelists discuss how activist and Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams went from being hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to reporting a net worth of $3.17 million.<\/em> <\/span><br \/>\nBack to the lawsuit &#8211; Mark Cohen, a U.S. District Judge, told a lawyer for Abrams\u2019 gubernatorial campaign that she was asking him to rewrite state law to allow Abrams\u2019 One Georgia committee to start taking money before the May 24 primary.<br \/>\nDuring a hearing in Atlanta, Cohen told lawyer Joyce Lewis: \u201cThe remedy you\u2019re asking me to do, I\u2019m uncomfortable with, because you\u2019re asking me to rewrite the statute,&#8221; said a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbs46.com\/2022\/04\/11\/abrams-backed-election-lawsuit-goes-trial-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>.<br \/>\nAs suggested by Cohen, it would have \u201cmade more sense\u201d if Abrams had demanded that the judge shut down the ability of incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp\u2019s committee to raise money.<br \/>\nThe judge asked: \u201cWhy are you not asking me to shut down Kemp\u2019s leadership committee?\u201d And Cohen answered that he would rule on Abrams\u2019 request for an emergency order by the end of the week.<br \/>\nIn a challenge from Kemp\u2019s Republican primary rival David Perdue, Cohen ordered in February Kemp\u2019s committee not to spend any money in the Republican primary. He said that because Perdue isn\u2019t allowed a similar committee, such spending would give Kemp an unfair advantage against the former U.S. senator.<br \/>\nHowever, Cohen didn\u2019t block Kemp\u2019s committee from taking in money. This ruling is temporary, while Perdue\u2019s lawsuit challenges Kemp\u2019s committee as unconstitutional, and Kemp is appealing the ruling.<br \/>\nAbrams also says, just like Perdue, that the new kind of fundraising committee created by Georgia lawmakers last year is unconstitutional.<br \/>\nThis so-called leadership committee allows certain people and groups to accept unlimited contributions.
