Ugh! Here we go with another broad daylight robbery taking place in California. It’s like this is just part of life over there on the west coast. This is a jewelry store who got robbed by a mob of thugs who bum rushed the store with a bunch of hammers, slamming the glass and then trying to take the jewelry. One guy was slapping the glass with a bag, so I don’t even know what he was doing. He was probably just really excited to be there. Anyway, the store owner comes out of the back with a gun and the robbers run off into the daylight.
Two things to learn about this video. 1) if you’re gonna rob a store, then at least know how to break the glass properly. And 2) be prepared for the store owner to come out packing heat. He could have pumped lead into those criminals, but I guess they ran out too quickly and he probably doesn’t want to sit through questioning down at the station if he unalives one of them.
Either way, what are the Democrats running California doing about the crime over there? Seems like every other day there’s a video of someone stealing something and it really feels like things are out of control in the wild west. ABC7News had some details on the smash-and-grab at the jewelry store:
“We’ve been robbed a few times before but not at this level of brazen magnitude. Eight individuals and two getaway cars and guns drawn,” says Tony Trinh whose mind was racing after learning about what happened. “I thought, did my mother get shot? Did my father get shot? Did any of our staff of community members?”
Surveillance shows 69-year old mother Diane ducking for cover and screaming for help as those eight individuals smash nearly every single case and ransack the shop. With no security guard on duty at the time, Diane’s 76-year-old husband comes storming in wielding a firearm which scares the suspects away.
Reporter Dion Lin reported on X:
8 armed suspects ransacked the legacy Oakland Chinatown business Phuong Jewelry yesterday at around 12:30.
The family tells me, in less than one minute 85-90% of their inventory was taken.
Watch as owner Diane runs to the back & gets her 76-year old husband. He storms out with a firearm and scares the suspects away!
The business let their insurance lapse because they kept getting dropped during the pandemic and premiums were so high.
The Oakland Chinatown Improvement Council started a @gofundme to help. This business, son Tony tells me was his mom’s American Dream. #Oakland
