Steve Burton, 29-year star of General Hospital, fired for not meeting vaccination requirements

Steve Burton, an award-winning soap opera actor, has been dismissed from ABC’s “General Hospital” after refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine, according to an Instagram video he posted on Tuesday. Jason Morgan was played by Burton, who has been on and off the show since 1992.

In a video posted on Instagram, the star stated that he had applied his medical and religious exemptions, but both were denied, adding that meant hurting his personal liberty. Nobody should lose their livelihood over this, he concluded.

The cast of “General Hospital” was obliged to get COVID-19 vaccinated by November 1, making it the first daytime serial to do so, according to actress Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis Davis on the soap opera.

Burton recorded his final episode on October 27 after failing to meet the company’s requirements.

Burton isn’t the only one experiencing issues.

Ingo Rademacher, who plays Jasper Jacks on “General Hospital,” was fired earlier this month after making a series of questionable social media statements about the vaccines.
