AP reported two small paragraphs that should end the Dexter Reed being shot by police in Chicago narrative being pushed by Democrats. Anytime someone is shot by cops, it’s like a Democrat’s magic button to push gun and cop control and it’s like they always ignore the real criminals. AP’s crime report said:
Officers in an unmarked police car stopped Reed for not wearing a seatbelt, according to COPA. But things devolved quickly as he appeared to refuse officers’ commands and didn’t immediately leave the SUV, according to video.
Reed fired first, according to COPA, leaving an officer with a wrist injury. Then four officers fired 96 shots in a span of 41 seconds, including after Reed exited the vehicle, fell to the ground and lay motionless. One officer alone fired 50 shots.
You see the first three words of that second paragraph? “REED FIRED FIRST” – there it is. End of story. He shot at cops and then he got shot. Wear your seat belt and don’t shoot at cops.
