Whomever was running the Twitter account for Walmart today called Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) a “soreloser” after the Republican said he would object to the Electoral College results coming up next week, in support of President Donald Trump.
Hawley stated he would object to some of the states in which President-elect Joe Biden had won. Hawley’s statement prompted a response from the Walmart Twitter account and the message to him stated “Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser.”
Hawley responded by saying “Thanks @Walmart for your insulting condescension. Now that you’ve insulted 75 million Americans, will you at least apologize for using slave labor?”
Walmart later deleted the insulting Tweet and issued an apology. The apology and clarification stated, “The tweet published earlier was mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team. We deleted the post and have no intention of commenting on the subject of certifying the electoral college. We apologize to Senator Hawley for this error and any confusion about our position.”

Hawley and several other Republicans plan to object to the electoral votes won by Joe Biden in some key states such as Georgia and Pennsylvania. Their goal is to flip the election in President Donald Trump’s favor, taking away the 306-232 win held by Joe Biden.
USA Today reported that Walmart had no further comment.
